About Me – Ron of Aki Trading Post

My name is Ronald, and I am an Abenaki craftsman devoted to keeping the traditions, language, and artistry of my people alive.

My mother's family comes from the Abenaki reservation in St. Francis (now Odanak), Québec, Canada. Today, the Abenaki language is rarely spoken, and our traditional crafts have become increasingly rare. But as long as my hands can shape, carve, and create, our culture will not be lost.

From my home in Connecticut, I work alongside other Native American artisans to craft pieces that carry the weight of history, the spirit of tradition, and the resilience of our people. Each piece I create is dedicated to my Abenaki brothers and sisters, my ancestors, and the generations ahead—so they will always know who they are.

This is more than art. It’s a legacy. A story. A truth that deserves to be seen.

By supporting this work, you are helping to keep a nearly lost language, tradition, and history alive. And for that, I am deeply grateful.
